Consistent Pacing Leads to Strong Finish Paul Shoemaker demonstrated impressive consistency during the 2026 REVEL Big Cottonwood Half Marathon. He completed the race in 1:44:11 with an average pace of 7:57 min/mile. His steady pacing is evident as most splits were close to or under the 8-minute mark. Notably, Paul shaved off time mid-race, dropping from a 9:28 min/mile for the first mile to as low as a 7:14 min/mile at the fifth mile. His performance placed him 9th out of the M 50-54 division, a commendable achievement given his competition. Starting at a modest pace, Paul rapidly improved his positioning throughout the race, climbing from 677th to finish 334th overall.
