Steady Start and Progressive Challenges Kate Robbins, hailing from Holladay, UT, completed the 2026 REVEL Big Cottonwood Half Marathon in 2:48:15 with an average pace of 12:50 min/mile. She started with a swift 11:20 min/mile in the first mile, gradually adjusting her pace throughout. By mile 5, Kate achieved her fastest split, clocking in at 11:12 min/mile, showing strong initial momentum. Despite a slower pace towards the latter part of the race, Kate maintained a position within the top half of her division early on, peaking at 62nd place in the 45-49 age group by the second mile. As the race progressed, Kate faced some challenges with pacing. From mile 8 onward, her split times slowed, reaching 16:01 min/mile in the final mile. Despite these fluctuations, she never let go of her tenacity. Ending the race, Kate finished 1,297th among female participants and 122nd in her age division. Continued focus on pacing, particularly in the latter half of the race, could enhance her future performances.
