Consistent Effort with Strong Start Caterine Mena Ramirez maintained a consistent performance throughout the 2026 REVEL Big Cottonwood Marathon with a final time of 4:59:38, averaging 11:26 minutes per mile. At mile 1, she started strong with an 8:38 pace, placing 507th overall and 206th for women. Notably, her pace remained steady between miles 6 and 14, before slowing in the later miles. Her performance within the Female 25-29 division was commendable, finishing 80th among peers. Splits at miles 10, 21, and 23 were longer, with mile 23 taking 20:18. Early splits showed faster paces, particularly mile 9's 9:28 pace, while later miles averaged between 11 and 17 minutes. Consistency in her middle miles, such as a 9:34 pace at mile 7, highlights her strong pacing strategy. Adjusting pacing strategies in longer segments may yield improvements for future races.
