Consistent Improvement Throughout the Race Laura Murillo Mejias demonstrated remarkable consistency and improvement during the 2026 REVEL Big Cottonwood Half Marathon. Starting with an initial pace of 10:02 min/mile for the first mile, Laura managed to significantly enhance her performance, dropping down to an impressive 8:26 min/mile by mile 9. Her pacing strategy is noteworthy, with each mile showing a gradual improvement in speed, ultimately achieving a final overall elapsed pace of 9:06 min/mile. Finishing the race with a total time of 1:59:17, Laura ranked 45th in the Female 40-44 division out of 130 participants. Laura's steady progression in pace from 10:02 min/mile to 9:06 min/mile and strong finish illustrate a well-executed race strategy. Although there was a slight deceleration in mile 12, overall performance in placement improved noticeably, ending at 925th out of 2630 participants.
