Consistent Performance with a Strong Finish Alex Black completed the 2026 REVEL Big Cottonwood Half Marathon in 1:53:14, maintaining an impressive average pace of 8:38 min/mile. Throughout the race, there was a noticeable acceleration, particularly in the latter half. Starting with a steady pace of 9:23 min/mile for the first three miles, Alex then began to strategically pick up the pace, culminating in a strong final mile at a split pace of 8:37 min/mile. His placement progression was remarkable. Starting from 1100th overall at mile one, Alex improved to finish in 675th place out of 2630 participants, moving up steadily in his gender and division rankings as well. His finishing place within the Male 25-29 division was 77th. For future improvement, Alex might focus on maintaining the faster pace from the midpoint right from the start to optimize his overall time even further.
