Strong Finish in Division! Ian Tharp displayed steady pacing throughout the 2026 REVEL Big Cottonwood Marathon, securing 2nd place in the M 1-14 division. With an overall elapsed time of 5:27:23, Ian maintained an average pace of 12:29 min/mile over the 26.2-mile course. Notably, Ian started with a consistent pace in the early miles, clocking a notable split of 10:32 min/mile at mile 8, which marked his fastest mile of the race. Progressing through the race, Ian demonstrated resilience, particularly maintaining his division standing from mile 2 onwards. Although there were some slower splits, notably at mile 12 with a time of 15:18 min/mile, Ian displayed strong perseverance. Encouragingly, he finished ahead of a significant number of participants, ranking 961st out of 1388 overall and 516th in the male category.
