Consistent Splits Show Steady Performance Tom Ericksen from Layton, UT, demonstrated a steady pace during the 2026 REVEL Big Cottonwood Half Marathon, finishing with an elapsed time of 2:01:45. His average pace of 9:17 minutes per mile was well maintained, with notable mid-race splits showing improvement. The fastest mile split was at mile 5, clocking in at 8:16 per mile. Throughout the race, Tom achieved his best divisional placement at miles 1 and 5, finishing 18th and 24th, respectively, in the M 50-54 age group. Areas for possible improvement could be the final miles, particularly miles 11 to 13, where his pace slowed slightly. It's commendable that he maintained a disciplined approach throughout, even as the splits slightly increased in time towards the end. Overall, with a finishing placement of 1029 out of 2630 participants, Tom's performance was consistent and showcased his endurance and preparedness. Being part of the Rabies Awareness team, his effort was commendable.
