Consistent Pace with Strategic Gains Hannah Watkins from Herriman, UT took on the 2026 REVEL Big Cottonwood Half Marathon with steady pacing and consistent effort. Starting with a 9:08 min/mile for the first mile, Hannah settled into a rhythm, adjusting slightly in the second mile to a 9:28 min/mile split. She found her groove from mile 3, maintaining or improving her pace within the 8:47 to 8:56 min/mile range until mile 12. Notably, Hannah's strongest splits occurred between miles 3 (8:47) and 8 (8:31), where she gained momentum and improved her standing. She finished with an overall time of 1:57:13, maintaining an 8:56 min/mile average pace, which positioned her 68th in her division. It might be helpful to focus on slightly increasing the pace consistency in the latter miles for future races, as seen in miles 11 (9:15) and 12 (10:15).
