Steady Progress and Strong Finish Kaya Newman of Vineyard, UT, maintained a steady pace throughout the 2026 REVEL Big Cottonwood Half Marathon, finishing with an overall time of 2:10:50. Kaya's overall pace progressively quickened from 10:31 min/mile at mile 2 to a strong last mile at 9:18 min/mile. Her finishing pace was impressive, settling at an average of 9:59 min/mile. In her age division F 19-24, Kaya placed 167th out of 263 participants, showing consistent improvement, especially in the later miles. Her placements reflected progress, moving from 112th at mile 1 and finishing 167th overall. Emphasizing consistent pacing from miles 10 to 12 helped significantly, with split times under 10 minutes per mile, showcasing a well-executed strategy of maintaining and slightly increasing pace towards the end of the race.
