Steady Improvement and Strong Finish Emma Brown from Vineyard, UT completed the 2026 REVEL Big Cottonwood Half Marathon with an impressive time of 2:10:51, averaging a pace of 9:59 min/mile. Starting with consistent splits of 11:21 min/mile for the first two miles, she progressively increased her speed, dropping her pace to 10:00 min/mile by mile 13. Notably, her speed improved significantly between miles 5 and 13, showing determination and stamina. Emma finished 1284th overall out of 2630 participants. She secured the 677th spot among female participants and ranked 168th in her F 19-24 age division. Emma's pacing strategy resulted in a commendable gain in her overall and gender placements, especially in the later miles. Despite a minor slowdown in mile 8, her ability to recover and even improve her pace demonstrates a strong mindset. Excellent effort in maintaining a consistent improvement towards the end! Focusing on early pacing could further enhance future performances.
