Consistent Start, Solid Finish Hazel Wright maintained a steady pace in the first half of the half marathon, showcasing a consistent performance with her first three splits at 10:59 min/mile, which placed her 32nd in her division. However, at mile 4, her pace slowed slightly to 11:33 min/mile. She quickly recovered at mile 5 with a faster 10:39 min/mile pace. Her overall elapsed time at the midpoint was 1:08:10, displaying a determined approach during the race. In the second half, Hazel experienced a gradual slowdown, with mile 12 being her slowest at 17:28 min/mile. Despite the slowdown, she maintained composure to complete the half marathon in 2:45:39, averaging a 12:38 min/mile pace overall. Hazel finished 34th in her division and 1275th among females. Focusing on maintaining a consistent pace in the latter stages could improve future performance.
