Consistent Effort with Room to Maintain Pace Laura showcased a commendable performance at the 2026 REVEL Big Cottonwood Marathon. Her pacing began strong with a first-mile time of 9:26 and gradually increased to a steady pace, demonstrating control and endurance throughout the race. Notably, she recorded a swift segment at mile 2 with a time of 9:14. Laura settled into a consistent pace around 9:53 min/mile from miles 6 to 8, which proved to be her average pace throughout the run. In the latter stages, there was a noticeable decrease in pace, particularly between miles 21 and 23, peaking with a 20:47 split at mile 23. The increased times in these later miles suggest an opportunity to strategize for maintaining energy levels over the full marathon distance. Laura finished in 5:21:36, a substantial effort worthy of acknowledgment. Placing 43rd in her division out of 1388 participants is admirable, and with strategic adjustments, she has the potential to improve her personal records.
