Consistent Start with Room for Growth Talmage Thurgood demonstrated impressive consistency in the early stages of the 2026 REVEL Big Cottonwood Half Marathon, maintaining sub-9-minute splits for the first five miles, with the fastest split being 8:04 at mile 5. His performance in these miles was strong, securing a top-15 position in his age division early on. As the race progressed, there was a noticeable increase in pace from mile 6 forward, peaking at 12:36 during mile 12. Although Talmage finished 18th in the Male 15-18 division, his early splits showcase potential to improve on this finish. Continuing to focus on pacing strategies during the latter sections of the race can be beneficial.
