Strong Racing Performance with Negative Splits Meredith Swirtz showcased impressive progress during the 2026 REVEL Big Cottonwood Half Marathon. Starting strong with an initial mile pace of 8:47, she strategically gained speed as she advanced through the course. Her commitment to negative splits is evident, peaking with a 7:40 pace by mile 13. Consistently improving, Meredith moved from 666th place in the early stages to finish 355th overall, outpacing over 300 participants. Her final time of 1:45:13 averaged to an 8:01 min/mile. Particularly notable was her remarkable climb in her division, finishing 32nd in the F 19-24 category. Meredith strengthened her position considerably from 83rd at the onset to 32nd by the race's conclusion. As a member of the Double Leaning Jowlers team, maintaining a steady pace with marked improvement in later stages is commendable.
