Consistent Effort with a Strong Start Cate Cook, representing the "Still got Miles" team, completed the 2026 REVEL Big Cottonwood Half Marathon in 1:47:53, averaging an 8:14 min/mile pace. Starting strongly, she secured 2nd place in her division (F 15-18) after the first mile with a 7:54 min/mile pace but faced increased competition as the race progressed. Notably, she maintained a sub-8-minute pace until mile 10, peaking with a 7:17 min/mile during the fifth mile. By the halfway point, her stamina and tempo-control showcased significant promise. A slight slowdown occurred after mile 10, with pace shifting to around the 9:45 min/mile mark in the concluding miles. This impacted her final division position, culminating in 10th place out of 13.1 miles. The latter part of the race may benefit from endurance-focused training, enhancing her competitive standing in future races. Longevity and strategic pacing could see marked improvements next time. Excellent dedication was demonstrated throughout.
