Steady Progress with a Strong Finish Donna Bocaya from Germantown, MD, delivered a steady performance at the 2026 REVEL Big Cottonwood Half Marathon. Her race strategy was evident as she adjusted her pace effectively throughout the splits. Starting with a slower pace of 12:43 min/mile between miles 1 and 2, Donna managed to progressively improve her split times, reaching her fastest mile late in the race at a strong 9:59 min/mile pace by mile 13. Ending with a final elapsed time of 2:19:26 at an average pace of 10:38 min/mile, she ranked 86th in the F 45-49 division out of 2630 participants. Remarkable consistency was shown as her overall placement notably improved from 2007 at one point to finish at 1581 overall. Maintaining or further improving pace earlier in the race might further enhance her performance. The data suggest a promising adaptation to maintain speed over distance. Well done, Donna!
