Steady Start, Challenging Finish Heather Mitchell, representing "Scrambled Legs," put forth a consistent performance at the 2026 REVEL Big Cottonwood Half Marathon. With an overall time of 2:08:52, she maintained an average pace of 9:50 minutes per mile. Starting strong, Heather completed the first mile in 9:15, displaying excellent pacing. Notably, she improved her pace to 8:27 by mile 5, which was her fastest split. In position 65 out of 165 in the F 40-44 division, Heather's initial strategy of maintaining a sub-9-minute mile pace for several splits showed great promise. As the race progressed, the elapsed pace gradually increased, with the final miles hovering around the 11-minute mark. To optimize performance in future races, focusing on sustaining her early pace in later stages might be beneficial.
