Steady Pace with Fluctuating Splits Tate Chamberlain maintained a consistent start with an even pace of 8:33 minutes per mile for the first two miles. Notably, the third mile saw a slight improvement in pace to 8:32 min/mile, showing a strong position within his division and overall standings. Between miles 4 and 7, his pace varied, with splits ranging from 8:27 to 9:15 minutes per mile. This phase reflected a mix of positioning, as he shifted around the 300th place among male participants. By mile 15, Chamberlain improved his pace to 8:02 min/mile, demonstrating bursts of speed. However, mile 21 presented a challenge with a steep drop to a 14:20 minute split. Despite this, Tate successfully finished the marathon in 4:18:57, placing 57th in his age division with an overall pace of 9:53 min/mile. For future races, aiming for more stable pacing in the latter stages could enhance performance consistency.
