Progressive Start, Challenging Finish Kaylee Miller from Stansbury Park, UT, completed the 2026 REVEL Big Cottonwood Half Marathon, demonstrating strong early pacing but encountering difficulties in the later miles. She initially achieved impressive splits, maintaining a sub-8:22 min/mile pace through the 3-mile mark. Her fastest split was logged at mile 4 with a pace of 7:26 min/mile, and she ranked as high as 157th in her gender during that interval. The latter portion of the race presented challenges, resulting in a slowdown. Her pace decreased noticeably from mile 8 onwards, reaching a 10:55 min/mile by mile 11. While her overall finish time was 2:00:55 with a pace of 9:13 min/mile, she can target endurance in maintaining her early speed throughout the distance, specifically focusing on the last few miles. Ending with an overall place of 995 out of 2630, there's potential to adjust pacing strategy for an even stronger finish in the future.
