Notably, his early miles were clocked at an average pace of 7:30 min/mile, ranking him 6th initially in the M 45-49 division. Jefferson's split times steadily increased as the race progressed, from 7:30 min/mile at the start to 13:06 min/mile at mile 25. Jefferson demonstrated resilience by maintaining his division position, ultimately finishing 8th in the M 45-49 age group among a large field of 1388 participants.
