Consistent Effort with Slight Variability Steve Somers displayed strong and steady performance at the 2026 REVEL Big Cottonwood Half Marathon. He maintained an average pace of 8:18 min/mile throughout the 13.1-mile course, crossing the finish line with a total time of 1:48:56. His split times reflected gradual improvements in pace from 8:32 min/mile at mile 1 to a swift 7:58 min/mile at miles 3 and 5. Notably, Steve made significant gains during the early miles, particularly between mile 1 and mile 3, improving his place in the overall standing from 370th to 478th by mile 3 despite an increase in elapsed pace. The later stages of the race saw a return to a more consistent pace, stabilizing around 8:10 to 8:30 min/mile from miles 6 through 13. His ability to navigate the final stretches contributed positively, securing a position of 291st among male participants and 25th in the Male 45-49 division.
