Steady Progress with Room to Elevate Consistency Kelton Johnston displayed a remarkable performance at the 2026 REVEL Big Cottonwood Half Marathon. His finishing time was 1:39:35 with an average pace of 7:36 min/mile. Notably, his best split pace was 6:53 min/mile achieved in the 3rd mile. A strong progression is evident as he gained positions in his division during the early miles. Kelton moved from 92nd to 80th in his gender from miles 1 to 2 and maintained good pace averaging under 7:20 min/mile through the first half. Despite a strategic start, there was a noticeable deceleration after the 8th mile. Particularly, the 9th mile saw the biggest slowdown with an 8:12 min/mile pace. The latter portion of the race presented consistency challenges. Finishing 144th among male participants showcases competitive spirit in a large field.
