Katherine began at a pace of 15:33 min/mile for the first mile, which adjusted slightly to a consistent average pace for the remainder of the race. Interestingly, Katherine showed strong improvements in her placement, especially in the final miles. Her position improved from 4490 after the third mile to 3142 by the end, with significant gains in her divisional place as well, climbing to finish as 362 among her age group.
