Consistent Progress with Strategic Gains Shawanda Bush-Nesmith demonstrated a steady pace throughout the 2025 Boston 10K for Women. Her splits reflect gradual pacing with a consistent approach to the race. Starting with an initial mile pace of 13:57 min/mile, Shawanda maintained a steady increase in pace by only varying within a minute or so per mile. This approach resulted in an overall race time of 1:29:44 and an average pace of 14:28 min/mile. Notably, Shawanda made impressive placement gains as the race progressed. Initially placing 4208th overall at mile two, she advanced to 3180th by mile five. Her performance also improved positionally within her division, moving from 735th at the second mile to 521st by the sixth mile. This underscores her strong finish strategy. Continuing to focus on pacing consistency could offer further timing improvements in future events.
