Steady Improvement Towards a Strong Finish Yosmery Frias maintained a consistent start during the first two miles, clocking a 12:08 min/mile pace. However, after the second mile, her split times started to increase, reaching a pace of 14:46 min/mile by the third mile. Notably, her fourth-mile split mirrored this increase with a 14:48 pace. Despite this dip in momentum, Yosmery managed to regain her stride, closing the final mile with her second-fastest split pace of 13:40 min/mile. Yosmery finished the 10K with an overall time of 1:24:58, placing her 4172 out of 5663 participants. Her overall course pace was 13:42 min/mile. Reducing variability in split paces could help her gain even more positions, especially in the middle miles. Most impressive was the recovery during the last mile, making it one of her strongest, which shows her potential for strategic improvements in pace management.
