From an initial pace of 12:06 minutes per mile in the first mile, Carly progressively accelerated, achieving a faster split of 10:05 minutes per mile in the final mile. Her increasing speed is evidenced by her placement improving significantly from being 3741st overall at the first mile to 2229th by the event's end.
