Progressive Performance with a Strong Finish Sydney maintained impressive consistency throughout the 10K, with her splits hovering around the 8-minute per mile mark. Starting with an 8:03 pace, Sydney improved to a 7:59 pace by the second mile. She then delivered an outstanding final mile at 7:36, demonstrating significant pace improvement as the race progressed. This consistent pacing contributed to an overall time of 48:49, with an average pace of 7:52 per mile. A notable improvement came after the third mile, where Sydney moved up significantly in her overall placement. She elevated from 383rd place overall at mile three to 234th by mile six, ultimately finishing 304th out of 5663 participants. Within her division (F20-29), Sydney ended in the top 23%. Maintaining this level of pacing while gradually setting faster splits is commendable and a great strategy for future races. Continuing to refine and push on these splits can yield even greater results.
