Notably, she improved from 16th place in her division at the first two-mile splits to finishing 14th in the F40-49 division by the race's end. This consistent performance demonstrates her ability to maintain a competitive edge over the course of the race. Analyzing her splits, Karen showcased a balanced performance with a slight acceleration between the 1st and 2nd mile, improving from a 7:13 to 7:08 pace.
