Notably, her splits reveal a consistent improvement throughout the race, starting with a 9:35 min/mile for the first mile and cutting down to a 9:04 min/mile by the sixth mile. This demonstrates her ability to maintain a steady pace while still finding the energy to quicken towards the end. Colby's placements improved as well, moving from 1411th place overall after the first mile to finishing the race at 1222nd place. Particularly, her division placement went from 383rd to 347th. Such progress points to effective pacing and strategy over the course of the race. Focusing on maintaining her later race paces earlier on could serve as a goal for future races. Overall, Colby can be proud of this well-paced and strong finish.
