Consistent Pace Progression with a Strong Finish Shannon Butler from Brookline, MA, demonstrated remarkable consistency in her 10K race. Starting strong with a 10:46 min/mile pace for the first mile, she showed notable improvement in the second mile, shaving off 27 seconds and clocking a 9:52 min/mile split. Though her pace settled around the 10:20 to 10:34 min/mile range for the next few miles, she managed to maintain a steady effort throughout. Her overall performance placed her 2474th out of 5663 participants. Notably, she ranked 685th in her division for females aged 30-39. The strategic pacing from miles 1 through 4 helped Shannon gain placement in her division ranking, with notable jumps during the 5th and 6th mile splits. Maintaining focus on pacing and possibly pushing a little harder in the latter stages could yield even better results in future races. Stride for Stride should be proud of her solid race execution!
