Strong Start and Mid-Race Adaptation Alison Burton began the 2025 Boston 10K for Women with a steady start, clocking in at an 11:25 min/mile pace for the first mile. She progressively improved her pace over the next three miles, significantly bringing it down to 9:47 min/mile by mile four. This consistent improvement in pace is commendable and reflects her ability to readjust and adapt her strategy mid-race. However, the pace slowed considerably in the latter part of the race. Her pace dropped to 29:13 min/mile during the fifth mile and further to 19:00 min/mile in the sixth mile. This shift resulted in an overall race pace of 14:58 min/mile. Working on sustaining the initial pace or gradual improvements through the latter half could be beneficial. Alison's ability to start strong sets a solid foundation, and maintaining that momentum will help improve her overall time in future races.
