Consistent Split Performance Leads to Strong Finish Shannon Westlund delivered a consistent performance in the 2025 Boston 10K for Women, maintaining a steady pace throughout the race. Starting with a strong first mile split of 7:50, she noted a minor slow down in her second mile at a pace of 8:05. Despite this slight dip, she regained consistency, recording splits between 7:58 and 8:10 for the remaining distances, showcasing her ability to maintain an overall race pace of 8:00 min/mile. Shannon completed the race with an official time of 49:41, covering the 6.2 miles diligently. Her placement improved significantly from the second mile onwards, finishing strongly in her age division of F30-39. Her most effective strategy was pacing, which ensured she finished as one of the top 85 in her division out of the initial 23 at the first mile.
