Consistent Improvement and Strong Finish Makayla Basak, a 20-year-old from Yorktown, VA, participated in the 2025 Boston 10K for Women, showing impressive consistency and improvement throughout the race. Beginning with an 11:42 min/mile pace for the first mile, she strategically increased her speed each mile thereafter. By the 6th mile, she achieved her fastest split at 9:43 min/mile, showcasing an ability to push the pace as the race progressed. Finishing with an overall time of 1:06:54 and an average pace of 10:47 min/mile, Makayla placed 1015th in her division of F20-29, and 2660th among female participants. She significantly improved her overall standing from 3491st at the first mile to finishing at 2732nd. This demonstrates her capacity for endurance and speed enhancement.
