Steady Pace with a Strong Finish Malia maintained a commendable pace throughout the 10K event. Initiating with a 10:53 min/mile pace, she sustained a consistent rhythm through the early splits, showing slight fluctuations. The slowest split was between miles 4 and 5, recorded at 12:16 min/mile. However, she demonstrated resilience by improving her pace in the final segment to 10:48 min/mile. This strong finish contributed to an overall time of 1:09:01 and an average pace of 11:07 min/mile. Its important to note the strategic improvement in placement throughout the race. Starting at 800th place overall, she moved up significantly beating more than a third of the total participants by the end. Notably, the most impressive improvement lies in gaining over 1300 positions between miles 4 and 5. While consistency is key, adding more structured interval training sessions could further enhance those late-race surges.
