Consistent Pacing Yields Improved Placement Erin Morley showcased effective pacing throughout the 10K race, starting with an initial split of 9:20 min/mile. As the race progressed, she transitioned from a 9:21 min/mile at the third mile to an impressive 8:40 min/mile in the final mile. Her ability to gradually increase her pace resulted in a consistent overall pace of 9:01 min/mile. From a positioning perspective, Erin demonstrated significant improvement. Beginning in overall position 1164, she advanced steadily, ending the race in overall position 1007. Notably, her placement in her division F40-49 started at 204th during the first mile but advanced impressively to 159th by the end of the race. For future races, maintaining a strong pace in the intermediate miles could help improve placement early on, maximizing final results. Continuing to refine her finishing strength will be key to reaching personal bests.
