Consistent Performance with Steady Pace Mary displayed a consistent pace throughout the 10K distance, completing with an overall time of 2:04:02 and an average pace of 20:00 min/mile. Most notably, during the first mile, she maintained a strong pace of 18:20 min/mile, placing her 104th in her age division. Halfway through, her split times showed a shift, with mile splits gradually lengthening. The split pace at the 4th mile was 21:59 min/mile, which was the slowest segment. Despite this, she efficiently climbed in her division placing from 271st at three miles to 219th by mile six, indicating a resilience and strategic finish. A bright spot was achieving her best overall position in the last mile, reflecting strong closing determination. For upcoming races, examining pacing strategies could lead to improved endurance in the latter half of the course. However, the way she managed her splits, particularly at the beginning, laid a solid foundation for performance.
