Consistent Progress and Strong Finish Sue Appleyard displayed solid pacing throughout the 2025 Boston 10K for Women. Starting with a steady 10:58 min/mile in the first mile, she maintained a consistent pace, clocking in splits of 10:54, 10:48, and 10:11 in subsequent miles. Her pace noticeably improved, particularly in the latter half, culminating in a strong finish at 10:30 min/mile for the fifth mile. Sue effectively shaved off time with each segment, demonstrating the ability to push through and accelerate as the race progressed. Sue finished the race with an overall time of 1:07:29, maintaining an average overall pace of 10:53 min/mile. Her overall placement was 2838 out of 5663 participants. Notably, her consistent improvement and strong finish led her to climb significantly in placement from 483rd to 315th in her division over the course of the race. Staying consistent through the middle sections could further boost her placement and performance. Great job, Sue!
