Starting strong, Shaun ran the first mile in 7:14, strategically positioning himself. His overall placements shifted slightly but stabilized between 9th and 15th as the race progressed. By managing his pace and conserving energy, he sustained a notable level of competitiveness. Between miles 22 and 24, Shaun accelerated, achieving mile paces as quick as 6:55. His final push was even more impressive, covering mile 26 at a pace of 6:45. This swift conclusion contributed to an overall 9th place finish, both overall and within his gender category out of 485 participants.
