Consistent Pace and Strong Finish Dariusz Stuj from Seattle executed a remarkable performance at the 2026 Capital City Marathon. Running at an overall pace of 7:11 min/mile, he completed the race in 3:08:12. Throughout the 26.2 miles, Dariusz maintained a consistent pace, holding the first position in the M Grand Masters (50+) division consistently from start to finish. Notably, he improved his placement, reaching as high as 7th overall and finishing 8th out of 485 total participants. Dariusz started strong with a 6:42 min/mile pace in the first mile and sustained an impressive rhythm, particularly from miles 1 to 11, where his splits varied only slightly between 6:42 and 7:25 min/mile. In the later stages, splits slightly increased, with splits reaching up to 7:52 min/mile. Yet, he regained momentum, finishing confidently with a notable effort. Tuning his later race splits could offer improvements in future races, but his performance remains commendable.
