Consistent Pacing with Potential for Refinement Malik Arachiche participated in the 2026 Eugene Marathon's Half Marathon. His overall time was 2:48:28, translating to an average pace of 12:51 min/mile. Malik showed noticeable consistency throughout the race, with the majority of his mile splits hovering between 12:00 and 13:00 min/mile. Notably, he achieved his fastest splits in miles 2 and 6, clocking in at 11:33 and 11:27 min/mile respectively. The race began with good momentum, as reflected by the impressive improvement in pace between the first and second mile by over a minute. However, from mile 8 onwards, pacing began to slow, indicated by splits that exceeded 13:00 min/mile. Encouragingly, Malik's performance in the middle sections of the race showed potential, and with an emphasis on maintaining stamina in the later miles, he can improve his overall performance. Finishing in the top 74% overall, Malik demonstrated the ability to compete with a steady approach.
