Consistent Pace with a Strong Finish Grayson Childress delivered a steady performance at the 2026 Eugene Marathon. He maintained an average pace of 6:03 min/mile throughout the race, completing the full 26.2-mile course in a commendable 2:38:53. Starting strong, Grayson moved up through the ranks, initially placing 101st overall and then steadily improving his position, finishing 60th in his age division (M20-24). Notably, his split around mile 15 was the quickest of the race, clocking in at 5:48 min/mile. In the later stages, Grayson faced a slight slow down, with splits at miles 24, 25, and 26 pacing over 6:30 min/mile. However, earlier miles ranging from 6 and 7 helped counterbalance this. For future races, maintaining endurance past mile 23 could further enhance his performance. Overall, Grayson displayed commendable consistency and endurance over most of the course, showcasing his potential in long-distance running.
