Pacing Improvement Demonstrated in Consistent Performance Xiao Qiu completed the 2026 Eugene Marathon Half Marathon with a total time of 1:55:08, maintaining an average pace of 8:47 min/mile. Key improvements were observed after the initial mile which started at 9:23 min/mile, with Jiang consistently refining her pace through the race, reaching her fastest mile split of 8:29 at mile six. The steady pacing strategy placed her 461st among female participants. Notably, her cumulative improvement over the latter half of the race helped solidify her finish within the top half of her division. Xiao held a strong position within the top 12% of her division, F35-39, further demonstrating effective pacing and endurance management. An opportunity exists for her to work on maintaining speed through to the final miles as her pace slightly dipped at the end, as seen in mile 13 with a time of 9:04.
