Consistent Pace with Notable Mid-Race Performance Brian maintained a steady pace throughout the 2026 Eugene Marathon Half Marathon, finishing with an overall time of 1:57:51 and an average pace of 8:59 min/mile. The first mile was completed at a 9:00 min/mile pace, improving slightly through miles two to six, maintaining paces under the 9-minute mark. Notably, Brian's strongest performance was observed in the 8th mile, clocking his fastest split at 8:44 min/mile, representing a commendable effort in the later stage of the race. Despite a slight slowdown from mile nine onwards, Brian showed resilience by finishing within the top 36 in his division (M50-54), out of a competitive field of 5458 participants. Focusing on maintaining an even pace in the later stages could further enhance performance. Continued emphasis on pacing strategy might lead to gaining ground in overall and gender placements in future races.
