Pacing Consistency with Room for Improved Endurance Sierra Zima completed the 2026 Eugene Marathon Half Marathon with an elapsed time of 2:45:45, averaging a pace of 12:39 min/mile. Throughout the race, she maintained relatively consistent pacing, particularly in the first half with split paces ranging from 11:31 to 11:57 min/mile. Notably, her best pace was recorded consecutively in the third and fourth miles at 11:31 min/mile. During the latter half, there was a noticeable decrease in pace consistency, with mile 11 marking the slowest pace of 15:08 min/mile. Sierra's overall placement was 3978 out of 5458 participants, and she consistently stayed in the mid-range of her F25-29 division. For future races, focusing on maintaining pace in the later miles could yield a faster overall time. This experience provides a solid baseline to build upon and opportunities for strategic pacing improvements.
