Date: Aug. 22, 2026 Participant: Kenna Supkis #197 Race: 2026 Habanero 100K Distance: 62.0 miles

Steady Pacing Powers a Podium Finish Kenna Supkis completed the 100K distance at the 2026 Habanero Hundred in 14:43:55, good for 4th overall and 3rd female overall out of 75 total participants, at an average pace of 14:26 per mile. The race, run on a single 10km loop at the 7IL Ranch near Bellville, is designed so no runner is ever more than three miles from aid a notable feature given conditions that regularly push real-feel temperatures above 100 degrees in deep Texas sand. Supkis opened with remarkable consistency, clicking off her first six miles at an identical 13:33 pace before settling into a 13:2613:45 per-mile rhythm through the race's first half. She climbed steadily through the field, moving from 23rd overall at mile 1 into the top 10 by mile 13, where she also claimed the lead of the F30-39 division a position she held all the way through mile 46. Her strongest overall placement came at mile 27, where a 14:02 split lifted her to 2nd overall and 2nd female before the field compressed again. The back half told a different story. A 21:28 split at mile 44 marked a clear turning point, after which per-mile pace gradually eased into the 15:0018:28 range through the final 15 miles. Despite the fade, Supkis held her ground, finishing 4th overall and securing 3rd female overall a testament to the cushion built during her strong early and middle miles. For future 100K efforts on similarly demanding terrain, targeting a more even split between the first and second halves could help preserve position in the closing loops, where she surrendered several overall places late.
