Relay Squad Battles Triple-Digit Heat to Steady Top-10 Finish The team "Trot it like it's Hot" completed the 100K Relay at the 2026 Habanero Hundred in 13:17:58 over 61.19 miles, averaging 13:02 per mile. The finish placed the squad 8th overall out of 15 teams and 6th in the mixed-gender division, a solid result on a course run in the notoriously brutal Texas August heat, where average real-feel temperatures climb above 100 degrees on deep sand trails at the 7IL Ranch. The opening six miles were remarkably even, with the team clicking off identical 12:18 splits before a runner exchange dropped the pace into the 9:4210:13 range through mile 8 some of the fastest running of the day. Overall position swung widely as exchanges rotated through the lineup: the team briefly held the overall race lead at mile 25 before settling back into the pack.
