Fast Start Yields Runner-Up Finish Despite Late-Race Fade Christopher Richards, 36, of Richmond, TX, completed the Half Marathon at the 2026 Habanero Hundred in 3:09:59, covering the event's 13.2-mile distance slightly longer than a standard half due to the race's signature bolt-on start segment. He finished 18th overall out of 110 participants, 13th among male finishers, and 2nd in the competitive M30-39 division. Richards opened strong, clocking an 11:35 pace on his first mile and holding a sub-13:00 pace through mile six, where he posted his fastest split of the day at 10:33 min/mile good enough to briefly claim the overall division lead.
