Age-Group Victory Forged in the Texas Heat Jesse Duke, 45, of Jewett, Texas, claimed first place in the M40-49 division at the 2026 Habanero Hundred 10K, finishing in 1:42:41 for an average pace of 16:50 per mile. Racing among 49 total participants, Duke placed 18th overall and 10th in the men's field, capping the effort with a division win that held from the very first mile. Duke's early splits showed strong, consistent pacing 15:35 for mile one and 15:34 for mile two before the middle miles slowed under mounting fatigue and course difficulty, with mile three and four landing at 17:25 and 17:38 respectively. A notable rebound followed at mile five, where Duke posted his fastest split of the day at 14:52, before the final mile stretched to 20:03 as the demanding conditions took their toll over the closing kilometer.
