Consistent Pace Leads to Impressive Finish Chris Miles delivered an impressive performance at the 2026 Runtastic HEBER Half Marathon, recording an overall time of 1:19:47 over 13.1 miles. Averaging a pace of 6:05 min/mile, Chris ranked first in the M45-49 division and sixth overall out of 456 participants. Consistent pacing was key, as Chris maintained splits close to 5:45 min/mile for the first three miles and effectively adjusted to slight pacing shifts in the latter stages. Notably, mile 4 was executed with a swift pace of 5:28, showcasing strategic speed utilization. A minor slowdown was evident in the latter half, with miles 9 through 11 showing a drop in pace, culminating at 6:38 min/mile at mile 9. Despite this, Chris's strong finishing effort at 6:12 in mile 13 reflects a well-managed race strategy. Future races may benefit from aiming for a steadier pace in later miles to sustain momentum.
