Consistent Pacing with a Strong Finish Laney Barnes showcased impressive consistency throughout the HEBER Half Marathon, maintaining a pace around 6:55 min/mile for the first three miles. She demonstrated improved speed, clocking her fastest mile at 6:28 min/mile near the race's end. This strategic push helped solidify her achievements in the top tier for her age division. Notably, she reached a career moment at Mile 7, securing 1st in both gender and division. Finishing with an overall time of 1:27:55, Laney placed 17th out of 456 participants, a commendable result. Her pacing improved in the latter stages, notably the penultimate mile at 5:54 min/mile, resulting in 5th in her gender and 2nd in the F15-19 division.
